BayArena, Germany
TEAM NEWS
Bayer are without first-choice keeper Rene Adler and Switzerland international Tranquillo Barnetta due to long-term injuries but key midfielder Andre Schurrle is likely to play behind being rested for a 2-0 win at Kaiserslautern at the weekend. Renato Augusto, Karim Bellarabi and Hanno Balitsch are all out.
Didier Drogba is fit after making his return to deet in the defeat to Liverpool, so Andre Villas-Boas will have to choose between the Ivorian and Fernando Torres. Michael Essien is the only key absentee for Chelsea.
MANAGER QUOTES
Robin Dutt: "The home advantage after two wins really helps. We played well in London and are coming off the back of a win in the Bundesliga. We know Chelsea aren't doing that well in the Premier League and are 12 points behind the leaders, we respect their players, but they are under pressure and we are hoping to find a win. I haven't seen major problems in Chelsea's defence, especially at centre-back, and I think the English press is a bit more critical then here. I don't see too many problems in the centre of defence, we let David Luiz run at us in the initial leg and he scored against us."
Andre Villas-Boas: "The most important thing is finding winning ways straightaway - if possible against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League. That is a massive game. Then we have three games in the Premier League where we should try to get nine points. The challenge is to have the belief and strength to fight for those nine points. But if we find nine points, it would put us in a different perspective. It is not bright for us but we have to find that belief."
