Real Madrid left-back is out for three weeks after sustaining a muscle injury while on international duty with Portugal. Striker Karim Benzema and forward Andel di Maria remain absent, while defender Pepe is suspended.
Espanyol returned to the Spanish capital with Romaric available after suspension, while Sergio Garcia has recovered from the injury which has kept him out since January.Espanyol midfielder Ndri Romaric insists his stuttering side are not daunted at facing runaway Primera Division leaders Real Madrid and believes they are capable of breaching the capital club's Bernabeu fortress.
Madrid have won nine successive league matches to open up a 10-point lead over Barcelona at the summit and they are firm favourites to add another victory against Espanyol.
