The Chinese Professional Baseball League is the top-tier professional baseball league in Taiwan. The league was recognized in 1989 and eventually absorbed the competing Taiwan Major League in 2003. As of 2008, the CPBL has four teams with usual attendance of approximately 3,000 per game.
